Packaging and containers

Food-grade packaging rules out mineral oil as a dispersing agent, yet without it manual blending will not carry the pigment evenly. And once airborne powder is loose in the shop, it shows up as specks on the part surface.

How MegaColor deals with it

  • Gear metering needs no dispersing oil at all — zero mineral oil, which is the hard constraint in food-grade packaging
  • Fully sealed mixing chamber, zero airborne dust; nothing drifts through the shop
  • Caps and preforms are small and light, so the pigment loading is low and recipe consistency translates directly into appearance consistency

Which model this industry usually takes

This is the common choice, not the only answer — resin temperature and throughput per machine are what actually decide the model.

Common choice: MegaColor 5th Gen Standard

  • Caps and preforms are mostly PP / PE, and throughput per machine is usually within 70 kg/h
  • Resins: PP / PE / PS / TPE and similar low-temperature resins
  • Throughput: 50–70 kg/h
  • Dosing configuration: Single powder

When to choose a different model

Industry experience is no substitute for a trial run. Within one industry, every plant has its own resin grades, pigment suppliers and loading ratios. We do not conclude anything from "everyone in this industry uses model X" — send us the resin and powder you actually run, we test on your material and settle the model once there is data. There is no charge for this step.

The trial run is free. We talk model and price once the data is in.
