Service & Support

Buying a dosing machine is not like buying a spare part. Whether it runs stably once installed depends on three things: the right model, correctly calibrated gear settings, and an operator who knows the machine. Here is what we do between your first enquiry and your first production run.

  1. 1

    Tell us your process

Three facts settle the model choice: the resin grades you run, throughput per machine in kg/h, and how many powders you dose at once. Send them by email or through the form.

  2. 2

    Ship us your material

Send the resin and color powder you actually run. We test on your material and send you the measured data. This step is free of charge.

  3. 3

    Select the model from data

Model and price come after the trial results, not before. If your process needs a different configuration, you hear it at this stage — not after the unit is mounted.

  4. 4

    Installation & commissioning

The unit mounts above the injection molding machine hopper; the interface dimensions are confirmed on site. Installation scheduling depends on machine count and whether you stop production.

  5. 5

    Operator training

Operators learn two things: how to set recipe gear positions, and how to purge for a color changeover. We spend most of the time on one rule — a new resin grade requires re-calibration. That is where problems start if it is not understood.

The one thing operator training must cover

This is not a selling point. It is a condition of use. If it is not explained, the first resin change will look like a machine fault.

Every recipe is tied to a specific resin grade. The metering chamber is volumetric: the volume is fixed, so the mass per dose varies with the bulk density of the resin — roughly 1.3 kg per chamber for PP, 1.7 kg for PS. Run PP and then PS at the same gear position and the powder dose is unchanged while the resin charge is heavier, so the color comes out visibly lighter. A new resin grade requires re-calibration. This is inherent to volumetric dosing, not a malfunction. Training covers it, and every recipe sheet states the resin grade it was calibrated against.

Very low addition rates

At very low let-down ratios the correct approach is a diffusion powder carrier with the gear count raised to 100 — not forcing the count down to 10. Below a certain gear count the per-dose mass is too small to stay consistent.

Switching between powder and masterbatch

DualMode™ runs either color powder or masterbatch: you change the component set, not the machine. Masterbatch and color powder use different metering gears — fit the matching gear set and re-calibrate after switching.

Purging and changeover

5th Generation: 1 minute to swap the chamber, under 5 minutes for a full purge. 4th Generation: 10 minutes. The mixing chamber is sealed and leaves no residual material, so there is never a batch of pre-mixed resin sitting in the vessel at changeover.

Warranty and response times

Current after-sales terms are stated below. Remaining specifics — wear-part definitions and training scheduling — follow the signed sales contract.

12-month equipment warranty

From the date of acceptance. Faults or failures caused by the product itself are repaired or replaced free of charge within the warranty period. Out-of-warranty repairs are charged at cost.

Remote diagnosis first

Most issues can be identified by phone or video without waiting for an engineer on site. We dispatch only when remote diagnosis cannot resolve it.

Spare parts

Common wear parts are held in stock. Powder hoppers, metering gears and mixing chambers are model-specific — quote your model and serial information and we match the correct part.

Response times

MegaColor after-sales response times by region
RegionResponseOn site
Jiangsu / Zhejiang / Shanghai within 24 h within 4 h
Other regions in China within 24 h within 48 h
Export markets within 24 h by agreement

Times run from the moment you report a fault and it is confirmed. Most issues are solved remotely with no site visit; the table covers the cases that require an engineer. Public holidays and force majeure — severe weather, traffic restrictions — extend these times. Contractual terms follow the signed version. On-site response in export markets depends on distance and local service arrangements and is agreed per contract.

Source spare parts through official channels. Powder hoppers, metering gears and mixing chambers are matched to the machine model — the wrong part will not fit. When ordering, quote your model and serial information. Service line 18989669291.

Frequently asked questions
  • Will it fit my existing injection molding machine? The unit mounts above the hopper and the mounting interface is confirmed on site. The fastest route is to send us a photo of the area above your hopper.
  • How long does a sample trial take? It depends on when the material arrives and current scheduling. You get a firm date once we receive your material.
  • Do you supply the color powder? No. We build the equipment; you keep your existing pigment supplier. Trials run on the powder you already use — that is the only way the data means anything for you.
  • Do we have to start with one machine? We do not offer rental. We recommend a sample trial first, then a single unit in production, then roll out once it runs reliably.

Before you order from overseas

The practical questions an importer asks before anything else. Where we have a measured figure, it is below. Where we do not yet have written confirmation, the line says so rather than carrying a number we cannot stand behind — ask us and we will confirm it for your order.

Lead timeQuoted per order — it depends on configuration and the current build queue, so we give you a date against your actual order rather than a figure here.

English documentationAsk before ordering — tell us what you need (manual, nameplate, controller interface) and we will confirm what can be supplied in English.

Why some lines above say “ask” instead of giving a number. It would be easy to write “CE certified, 4–6 weeks, FOB Ningbo” on a web page. We publish only what we can put in a contract and produce the paperwork for. We do not hold CE marking today, and lead time depends on configuration and the current build queue — so you get a date against your actual order rather than a figure copied off a brochure. If any of these decides your purchase, ask, and you will get a straight answer.

Ship your material first, discuss price after

Once your material arrives and the data is in, the model and the price follow from it. This step is free of charge.
