Toys and gifts
Toys and gifts mean bright colours, a lot of colour references and small runs — several changeovers a day. A slow changeover is a machine standing idle, and the row of pre-blended tubs in the blending area becomes scrap when a run finishes early.
How MegaColor deals with it
- 1-minute hopper swap and a full purge in under 5 minutes (5th Generation), so changeover no longer eats machine time
- Blends only what is called for, so small runs leave nothing over
- Finished-part colour deviation ΔE < 0.2, so the same colour reference matches across batches
- Recipes are held in the cloud and 200+ colour references can be recalled, instead of working from paper recipe sheets
Which model this industry usually takes
This is the common choice, not the only answer — resin temperature and throughput per machine are what actually decide the model.
Common choice: MegaColor 5th Gen Standard
- Toy parts commonly run PP / PE / ABS on mixed lines, where frequent changeover is the main constraint
- Resins: PP / PE / PS / TPE and similar low-temperature resins
- Throughput: 50–70 kg/h
- Dosing configuration: Single powder
When to choose a different model
- Running high-temperature resins (ABS / PC and similar) → same model in the high-temp configuration, see the model codes
- More than 70 kg/h per machine → large-capacity model
- Two powders to dose → dual-powder model
- Several raw materials to dose → dual-material model
Industry experience is no substitute for a trial run. Within one industry, every plant has its own resin grades, pigment suppliers and loading ratios. We do not conclude anything from "everyone in this industry uses model X" — send us the resin and powder you actually run, we test on your material and settle the model once there is data. There is no charge for this step.
